Error messages don't show to users entering incorrect password on widget

When logging in via the Book That In widget, entering an incorrect password does not display an error message. The login attempt appears to hang with no feedback, leaving users unsure what has happened.

This issue does not occur on the main Book That In website - it is only happening on the widget.
